Cryogenic valves are used during the process of liquifying natural gases. Gases such as nitrogen, oxygen and helium are transported in liquid form for the sake of saving space. These gases are liquified at very cold temperatures, minus 73°C or even colder. That means that you need cryogenic valves, capable of withstanding these extreme temperatures. Red Point offers you a full range of cryogenic valves, available in a variety of alloys.
The temperature determines the alloy of your new cryogenic valves
Choosing the correct alloy is of vital importance when you are in the business of cryogenic substances. All cryogenic valves in our assortment are available in the following alloys:
- Duplex, super duplex, stainless and carbon steel
- Alloy 600, 635, C 276, 800 and 825
Note that steel-based alloys are suitable for temperatures up to minus 51°C. Lower temperatures require a different alloy. Be sure to check out our online brochure on cryogenic valves to help you choose the correct alloy and valve.
